    Canon-wise I think its going to be Darius as Hunter seems to want to live in the Boiling isles and Camilla didn't really bond with him more than the others. (Camila can't move to the Boiling isles cuz Vee.) Also Zeno clarified it was more to point out the sibling bond between Luz and Hunter, not a direction of whose going to be Hunter's new parent. (plus it got changed to heart of Flapjack). In canon, Darius seems to have mainly ignored Hunter up until Any sport in a storm.

    Though I could sort of see a shared custody between them. I think that Camila is going to be close to Hunter but more like an aunt / mother figure.

      I'm pretty sure by the end of the series there's going to be a working portal, so that Luz can attend Hexside and live with Camila. I mean, Dana has torn our hearts to pieces many times, so I might be forced to eat my words. However, the perfect happy ending certainly entails there being an active portal, and if Luz could travel between the realms, why not Hunter?
      Secondly, Camila calls him "baby." And perhaps she didn't bond with him more than with the others, but the others have families. While everyone else is drawing pictures of the people they want to return to, Hunter doesn't draw Darius. In fact, the only time he mentions Darius is when he says that the sawing contraption is doing a better job than him.
      Even if Darius was mostly ignoring Hunter, he clearly knew that this was just a kid. And never wondered about Hunter's scars or why the kid's so eager to please? But ignoring the abuse is just one thing, the other is: we're not really shown Darius ignoring Hunter. We're shown Darius rescheduling a meeting behind Hunter's back with the rest of the Coven heads (and I'm pretty sure Darius could have figured out Hunter was *ordered* to have that meeting by Belos; also pretty sure Darius could have figured out what happens to Hunter when Belos thinks Hunter has disobeyed an order). And then? Darius is actively mocking the kid for not being good enough and for being bad at sewing. Then he forcefully steals Hunter's cloak. And then he sends Hunter on a mission just for lulz. And he manages to all of that even before the opening credits of the show.

      So yeah. I don't think he'd be a good parent. I don't think he's a particularly good person. That doesn't mean I don't like him (I love characters being shitty people, that's why I'm obsessed with Lilith for example). It just means I don't see him adopting Hunter as a happy end. It might happen in canon, of course. If it does, I'll have to deal with it, probably by writing a lot of stories about Darius sucking at being a parent despite his best efforts. For now, when I'm imagining the best case scenario, Darius is the uncle / distant father, and Camila's right there.

        Darius has made so pretty bad mistakes, that I will admit but I still don't think it's enough to completely ban him from being able to become a good father to Hunter. I still believe they could work something out after Darius apologies to Hunter for how he treated him. Kind of like Alador with his kids.

        Just because we the audience know of the abuse doesn't mean Darius knew. He ignored Hunter's most of the time so he probably just assumed he got the Scars from his missions. He moved the meeting to probably stall the recruitment efforts and prevent others from falling victim.
