Oh my gosh what a wonderful thing to wake up to on Christmas morning <3 I love all comments! This was a delight to read. I'll reply to a couple of things, but if I don't reply to everything, either it already speaks for itself, or anything I could say would be too spoilery.
1. I was pretty proud of that one! Coming up with metaphors that go on for a little too long is definitely a skill I've been trying to hone, and honestly it's so fun!
8. For me it was the alliteration. B) Yeah I'm no good at wrapping either. I try, but I never learn my lesson...
12. HAHAH yeah, we'll definitely see more of the Crockers, too! I hope it's satisfying when they're reintroduced, but I won't say more than that.
13. Dave Strider deserves EVERYTHING. u_u
16. The gifts were really hard for me to think up because I'm not a good gifter myself lmao. So I tried to think what style each person would go with: "classy" for Dadbert (easiest), "comfy/practical" for Jade (kind of easy), and "showy" for Jake (a little harder). When it came to Jake, I sort of extrapolated that, okay, Beta Jake liked trophies, what kind of trophy could Jake give Dave? And a huge print/framing of his photography seemed like it would be perfect! Especially because that stuff can get expensive. (I don't know if it'll ever come up again, but the photo I envisioned for Dave getting framed is a really nice classic photo of the Space Needle from Queen Anne (a lot of Space Needle photos are from there!), with Mt. Rainier in the background and some really beautiful sunrise colors and lots of mist!)
19. It's definitely something I'm trying to incorporate throughout, just to demonstrate that they really are so in tune physically, despite Dave only living there for a few months. It was important to me to try and subtly lift up the long-distance part of their friendship as really the entire foundation of their relationship.
20. I LOVE JADE SO MUCH. I should really write more Jade-centric content, she's been a secondary character in a lot of my writing lately but she's so good! She'll show up again as well!
