Well, they say the burden hardest to bare is the one you carry alone. Fortunately it looks like Luz won't have to carry that load by herself any longer now that Ned is in on it. Kid needs a good support net. And despite all the gruffness from him, I guess you can't be too mad at Hopkins. Running a physical newspaper in this day and age has got to stress you the heck out just trying to stay alive. So you do what you have to to grab readers attention. Still could dial it down a bit on the anger.
Sad to see such a great mind shattered by that accident. And it looks like the Blight's company is taking a threefold hit with the experiment a failure, their best researcher behind bars and the experimental flight platform stolen.
