Thank you very much for your comment! It makes me happy to hear that you're enjoying it and like my characterizations. The overall purpose of this story (and the two preceding it) was to get Stannis and Jon to interact more, and I particularly had fun with writing the Ned/Jon/Stannis dynamic in this chapter.
I can't help but wonder if Stannis won't figure things out especially if Jon talks to him more about what Ned said. You'll get an answer to your wonderings in the coming chapters ;). Ned (not on purpose, mind you) told Stannis just enough facts for Stannis to make a reasonable guess at R+L=J, but only if he asks the right questions. Some of the things that Ned said are certainly puzzling without knowing the full context, and Stannis is indeed someone who will just let matters lie...I enjoyed reading your analysis and thoughts!
