Well spotted. ;) Yes, that's one of the ways I'm balancing power levels in this crossover. The Avengers are frighteningly competent and skilled, compared to Ladybug and Chat Noir's somewhat all over the place self-taught style. But they're taught to be lethal. Dealing with a situation where the person you're fighting is also a hostage...?
(And thanks for the feedback on personalities! Most of my exposure to MCU has been through fic, to be perfectly honest - one of the reasons why I decided not to bring material from later movies in, I haven't even seen them yet. So I'm glad to know I managed to hit more or less the right notes.)
I refer you to the opening AN: I'm not referencing any movies beyond the first Avengers one, and a few quick references to Thor and the first two Ironman movies. Mostly because I haven't seen anything else - and I have no intentions of watching Civil War, because one of my massive turn-offs for any fictional universe is good guys fighting each other. So in terms of relative power levels... I mostly just worked my way through that on first principles, and the sorts of things we see Ladybug and Chat Noir pulling off in the series as viewed through a lens of "what would that mean, in the real world?"
Though there are a few Spiderman references, because no one can look at the way Ladybug travels across the city and not make Spiderman comments!
Well the personalities are spot on (see what I did there). Which I find impressive if you haven't seen the movies. I have a hard time keeping my characters in character sense one of the fun things in fan fiction is putting them in situations they would never find themselves.
