    I'm very pleased to know I've been true to everyone's characters so far! That is what I'm aiming for with only minor tweaks to get a relationship going. I couldn't think of a way for Zib to get out of the tank that would be believable for his character (I thought Wick's diamond cufflinks were a stretch, but went with it anyways), so I had him stall for time for Reader to get loose instead. He's not athletic, and I don't think he'd know how to pick a lock.

    Part of the reason this chapter took longer was because I was grappling with how to kill Lorelei off. I wanted a bigger more ironic death for her, but I couldn't work it in. I am however keeping the idea of having Lorelei be the main antagonist of a future stand alone fic. Wherein Mitzi owes somebody money she can't pay, so, out of desperation, uses an old resource of Atlas' and sends them to Lorelei. Problem solved. Only now she owes Lorelei compensation for her work. It doesn't have to be money. Unfortunately, the old taxidermist decides that Wick is just what she needs for Adella's grotto. Every princess should have a prince, after all.

    I think your assessment of Mitzi is spot on. She'll do whatever it takes to get her way, no one is irreplaceable, and she'll die on that hill.

      Is It just me or sweet, naive Wick is your favorite punchbag?

      Now Im not Mitzi, but if I was I would tell Lorelei "Oh, honey you can't have him, we BOTH need him Alive, he's the one really playing for everything! But! Dont you worry I got something perfect for you, you're gonna LOVE It: he's tall and strong and handsome, and he's got long white fur... If you dont like him as a prince he could be a guard or a knight in sining armor! And his dear sister is never too far behind so you may get a two for one!

      Also dont misunderstand me, Mitzy can be ruthless and ambitious but she still has a heart, she does care for Viktor and Rocky and the others, at least in a way.

      This is why Rocky says "she has been so good to me" and wants to please her, she literaly picked him of the streets for his music at a time when she wasn't doing so well with her husband

        I can't help it! Wick's got "Damsel" written all over him. I wanna lock him in a tower just to make people go rescue him! Not that he's totally helpless, that stuff's just more fun for me.

        Utilizing Lorelei to put a ding in the competition would be a good move on Mitzi's part, but it sounds like more contract work. I'll spin the idea around a few more times and see what shakes out.

        I've never viewed Mitzi as evil, I think few people do, she's desperately trying to claw back a life of high society that she lost. I'd probably be mad too if I made it to the top only to have the rug pulled out from under me. So, the interesting part of her character development might be seeing how she grapples between doing whatever it takes to get Lackadaisy back on top and retaining her compassion for the people closest to her.

        I agree with that sentiment about Rocky. I think she saw some of herself in him and that's why she helped him out.

          I got too many plot bunnies, now I have the image of Wick stuck in a tower for the reader to come an rescue him and there's so MANY POSIBILITIES!!
