Comment on Dynasty (die nasty)

  1. it's FUN. splinter and the turtles is already a built-in story opportunity to talk about teachers and students, and making Splinter's history another layer of that adds a whole delightful mess. how much does what you learn define who you are? splinter has been trying SO hard not to teach them the way the Foot clan does things, for a whole lot of reasons. It was easier when he started, since his basics are all from his mom, and as the boys have gotten older he's put time and thought into adaptations of things he learned from the Foot. aghjahsf as far as splinter is concerned he and karai were never going to be a thing, but he probably in the future will be contemplating what it would have been like to stick around and if he would have met Casey that way.

YEAH that's a good guess!! he didn't want the boys to know what he'd done especially since they made what he considers the correct decision. with the boys, he didn't think the information could actually help. him talking now is partially because he's got a certain remove from Casey, but it more helps that casey didn't want to be in the Foot and couldn't get away, so Splinter feels like he can and should get across to Casey that it wasn't his fault.

i haven't seen much 2012 but it's very funny to me that a go-to strategy there is Chain Up Stranger. i was delighted to steal it for soup. donnie is IMMEDIATELY microchipping weird family friend. he has had a very stressful two weeks of being unable to solve this problem so now he's solving it retroactively but also in advance. karai is absolutely going to keep sending casey weird presents however this shakes out. he's her only nephew.

glad you're enjoying this turtle soup!! i had a lot of fun making it :D
