POOR WEI YING! I felt so bad for him writing this and during editing, he is SO SAD and Jiang Cheng is so sad, too, and everyone and everything is sad and broken and tragic!
Yeah, finding "evidence" of Foxxian experimenting with demonic cultivation there really cinched the deal for Jiang Cheng. Especially with how WWX had been acting in the forest, not wanting to look for the body or being concerned/upset at the prospect of the tiger having been killed. Of course, he had good reason not to be sad since the tiger would have been dangerous to WWX if he had wanted the town for himself, but now it looks very suspicious... If it hadn't been a puppet, Jiang Cheng would have been more suspicious, but this is all his wartime nightmares come back to life...
This story does have an "angst with a happy ending" tag but Wei Ying's little heart has got to be very strong first.
