Nothing made me happier than seeing this update in my email. I love this verse so much. I just love diving into the way you write their thoughts, feelings, dynamics and how all of this interacts with the holiday. The way you flesh out this world and these characters means so much to me. One of my favorite pieces of how you write is when you sprinkle in some details without going into every single thing. like mentioning that Sam and Dean went to couples therapy. (I mean i would kill to read just an in-depth story of their therapy sessions but that's bc I'm insane, I'm sure it wouldn't generally make a good story lol)
"There’s not many things that they haven’t said to each other anymore and there’s something freeing about that. It was hard. That kind of honesty is brutal and complicated. --I love how you can see how Dean and Sam are in a fundamentally better place than they were in the first story. Look at them! Checking in with each other and communicating! Being honest even when its hard when before they couldn't even deal with any of it. Dean going into detail about why he has/had such a hard time with Christmas is so good.
Christmas is all about normal. Traditions, expectation, happy families. It doesn’t leave space for complicated and painful This made me almost cry. I'm having a hard time with Christmas this year and its nice to explore my weird feelings via the Winchesters and this story.
I love seeing Dean and Cas as parents!
Thank you for writing and sharing and i look forward to the rest!
