      Honestly? Though I know people often suggest those tags are problems for wranglers, they really aren't. A tag either has a clear meaning, and thus can be dealt with the same as a short tag, or doesn't, and thus gets tossed into the swirling vortex of the No Fandom unfilterable tags bin, there to bother no one. The length of a given tag has basically no bearing whatsoever on how much trouble it is to deal with.

      One of the foundational principles of the Archive's tagging system is that we want users to be able to tag however they want, with whatever tags _they_ want to see on their fic. Some of those will be ambiguous or unclear, and then we'll be less able to attach them to a specific canonical, but that's still really a personal choice.
