This was interesting to read. Especially so because it's Daemon and it was obvious that he'd find conflict with anyone not sharing his same philosophies. And also because you don't usually see POV's of consciousnesses of characters overtaken by self inserts.
Did Daemon not notice the tragedies that befall his house in the future where he marries Rhaenyra? Or is he wilfully ignoring it because of the ensuing greater glory?
And will it become relevant to the plot that Daemon cannot see or recall the Long Night or the Night King here?
I had the same question. Personal glory v. Eternal House legacy. Then I realized that Daemon doesn't know the SI's intentions. He just assumes the worst. Hopefully the SI will be able to make his intentions apparent to Daemon by saving Gael's life.
