Ah, so good and so painful at the same time! At the end, my eyes glimpsed "It's time to go home" before catching the person's description and my first thought was: it's Ace, coming to take Luffy home, away from this world. And wouldn't that be tragically ironic, if this very one person who Luffy remembered took him away from all those who he didn't? It would be quite a cruel twist, if the price for reaching Laughtale was the captain's life as well, just in a differently prolonged way. Firstly by taking the memory, then - once the crew gave up - taking their life shared together, finally with a literal last step. But oh, it's still oh-so cruel! On one hand, on some level, I can understand the crew's decision. Such situation is a tragedy and endless suffering for all involved. But to give up on precious things that are still good, to abandon the beloved person when things get painful, to not push longer when in a world as bizarre as their, there is still hope hidden among the seas, to give up hope for the person who made miracles when all hope was lost... Well. I can't help but feel that Mihawk said it best. That was a very poignant line on his part. Looking forward to the next chapter!
