    Kakashi wasn't exactly fair to Jiraiya either. Maybe Orochimaru will talk sense into Kakashi. About how apparently Danzo's manipulations managed to turn Naruto into a pariah and left Jiraiya having to play spy master while Kakashi ended up left a broken mess. Part of it being Danzo's manipulations turning him into a traitor.

    In all seriousness, I suspect Naruto's closest friends will be Shikamaru, Kiba, and Choji. There will be a rivalry with Sasuke, but Jiraiya wouldn't have them on the same team. I think Fugaku would be of the same opinion.

    Naruto would probably do best with Kiba as a teammate, they'd be rivals but the instant an outsider started bashing Naruto, he'd blow a gasket.

        I saw, can't remember where a crack fanfiction where Sasuke somehow summons toxic fangirls to attack Orochimaru in the forest of death.

        I think there is another one with Itachi versus Madara.
