I am so glad you wrote this! I was just thinking a while ago that I'd never seen an au where Yuuri starts training with Yakov/the Russian contingent (although I feel I've seen similar? but I've been reading yoi fanfic since it first came out, I cannot remember anything specific, besides post-canon fics).
This was marvelous, and quite a ride! I loved that it's all told from Yakov's pov, and all of his own issues adjacent to the Drama™ happening between skaters, that he doesn't want to know about.
Im sure there's a lot more I could gush about, but after 92 chapters.... It was fantastic, and I'm sure I'll be reading it again eventually. Lovely!
