  1. Rambling in no particular order

I said this last time but I'll say it again, Kiordan is so fun to read. His seemingly carefree nature is just a fun contrast to the clearly tense political situation happening around him and everyone else. Not that it makes him any less menacing. In fact, it gives him a confidence that makes him seem almost invincible in my eyes even when he is aware that his age is starting to cause problems with him. Anyway, onto something other than Kiordan, I found the sections in Mossvale really cute. Similarly to Kiordan, it gives a nice contrast to the politics happening to the other characters. However, it's clear that Kiormund can't escape it since he's being summoned by his father, but I like hearing his thoughts on why he wants to stay out of all of it. Unfortunately, I'm guessing that he'll eventually have to get his paws dirty if he wants the peace he so desires. I might just be imagining the next point, but I feel like the narration gets more blunt and slightly more mean-spirited when the POV character is Lorelei and I just find that funny. In the past five chapters, we are introduced to Hirsent who is actually quite pleasant compared to the other characters. However, Kiormund said something to the effect of "no one is ever nice for no reason" which both implies a capacity for more pragmatic thinking on Kiormund's end and a potential beast to watch out for in Hirsent. Who knows, maybe she actually is just nice, but the story thus far has pushed that "in the current climate, bonds and trusts are strained, so watch your back". This last point is just something stupid, but I love how compared to the hare names in canon there's just Patrick and Emma, two names that are very tame compared to like, every other name in the fic thus far.
