'I do, he almost says. I do, he almost declares. I do, he almost claims, and nearly discards the perfect plan. But then it hits him. It hits him, the perfect plan. The one way he can help Kyoko, and she won’t even have to agree to it. His brain is not perfect by any means, but sometimes, he swears, he must be a genius.'
This was such a fun part. I love how this feels like such a 'makoto' style train of thought. Like a train slowly coming to the station and taking off with a brilliant (well sometimes brilliant) idea.
Also the dynamic between Kyoko and her father was very well written. I like seeing if people show Jin as 'always absent' or 'trying to make amends'
But yours had some levity to his behavior. And I really like that. It's like how a dad should be. A bit of a goofball but good at heart.
Anyway this was awesome and cute perfect for Naegiri!
Thank you!! I'm so glad to hear that you liked it. And I actually hadn't even realized that I'd written that part quite with a Makoto-style train of thought, so it's really cool to me that you noticed it! It's pretty cool.
As for Jin, I totally agree that I like seeing how other people portray his behaviour. We mostly get subtle hints in canon about his feelings towards Kyoko, so it can be hard to know what people will choose, but I've always been a fan of making him be dad-like without necessarily fully being Kyoko's father figure. He definitely wants to be this silly, loving dad with her if he can be, but she's... not at the point where she's ready to let him in to do that. I think it speaks to how much Jin has grown away from his father, as well. I'm glad you appreciated it, because it was super fun!
Thank you again for all of your kind words :D they were a pleasure to read!
