    strong start for sure. Is Azula actually cursed and if she is for what? Or is she blessed and no one explained shit to her? smh spirits at least give girl a warning. (although if it was a deal I'm sure Azula would take it to be free of that devil's den that is 'alysum'.)

    I have been wondering for a while why most of your ideas end with Azula cursed somehow? Don't get me wrong it is fun plot idea but it's prevalence in your stories seems intentional. Azula has suffered enough and had enough pain to not have to resort to that kick off every single time wouldn't you say? Not a critism just very curious why you pick such ideas to develop the most.

      Thanks so much. A curse can also be a blessing. A blurse if you will. Or like, if Azula is feeling bold, she can choose to interpret her curse as a blessing. Pull a "joke's on you I'm into that shit."

      No worries at all and I don't mind answering;
      Honestly it's probably not as exciting as you might think; I just like that particular trope. I enjoy curse stories. And stories that involve physical transformations & metamorphosis. I tend to work with werewolf plots a lot for this reason. It's also not something that exclusive to my Azula fics. Curses like this come up in my Regina fics a lot (Once Upon A Times is 100% free real estate for that lol--curses drive the canon of that show).

      Other tropes & themes that I tend to enjoy and work with a lot are; self-image & insecurity, body horror, zombies, ghosts, goth motifs, band AUs, and mental illnesses like depression, anxiety, EDs. Azula specific ones; dragon!zula & mom Azula/Azula dealing with children. Those are the ones that I can think of off of the top of my head.

       

      TL;DR I just think that the curse/transformation trope is neat. They're my forte and the fics that I tend to enjoy writing the most.

      EDIT: And memory loss! How could I forget memory loss!? (Perhaps because it is memory loss and life imitates art). That one is a big one; I have done multiple versions of 'Azula loses her memory'. And I am doing it again. So like this one is like my favorite tropes x2. See now I'm thinking of making a fic where I throw in as many of my favorite tropes as I can (regardless of how contradictory they are) and see what comes out. Azula (who has lots of tattoos and piercings) memory loss band AU where she is a vampire that is cursed to be a weredragon. It takes place on a beach and the beach has it's very own haunted cemetery. "Why is that dragon shredding on a guitar???"

        Thanks for answering. Transformation stories are fun thats true. My own idea for Fire Spirit Azula involves her breaking out from the alysum during her transformation and saving everyone inside be it intentional or not. So quite different indeed. Azula with kids is fun and doubly so if she and Kiyi are best sisters.

        The fic idea sounds like it would be super crack or very serious and both options sound appealing. Weredragon and a vamp? Whats next some mermaid pieces added it? Forgetting memory loss is quite ironic indeed heh.

          No problem. That's an interesting concept; are you writing a fic or is it more of an idea that's floating around your brain. Oh gosh yes, I love the Azula with kids dynamic because both Azula and children are very ruthlessly blunt and the opportunity for banter is great.

          Honestly lol, it very much could go either way. Lmao trollzula, centaur Azula, dinosaur Azula. The possibilities are endless.

            Its more a few fun ideas coming together in a fun way. Like Painted Lady being spirit of Justice and vengance both. Or Kat becoming High Priestess of Painted Lady post canon. Azula would get a deal of Painted Lady specifically to get her vengance and then help others get theirs. Hama would be one of those for sure. So Kat as High Priestess and Azula as 'champion' of two different sides of Painted Lady would be a lot of fun to work with.

                Painted Lady is the most Azutara thing there is in the show. Water Spirit in Fire Nation. more people need to remember she is a thing tbh. She offers such fun possibilities for stories.
