    Thank you so much for the praise! I’m proud to have got you hooked so quickly.

    I also am a sucker for Sherlock getting in over his head with drugs because he thinks he can manage just fine and, doesn’t quite.

    It’s kinda the necessary flip side of his arrogance, isn’t it. If you have a character who is convinced of his brilliance and that he’s in control of anything and everything because he’s oh so rational, things get really interesting when he’s proved wrong.

    (And I also suspect shooting himself in the foot might not be a metaphor at all in this case)

      No, I was making a sly and perhaps obscure reference to injecting narcotics between your toes to make it less visible to those living with you.
