Might be that I lost track of what year it was in this fic. I know Reggie dies some time near the end of the war to steal away The Locket. In which case, simply remove the word "dead" from the scene above. It doesn't seem to let you edit comments after a time.
Fair enough (the timeline in this fic is a bit nebulous anyway, lol). This is before Lily became pregnant, so at least 2-3 years before the war ended. Harry is late 17, and the rest of the cast is 19-ish.

Poor Regulus. Half the time he's dead and 45% of the time he's shipped with James for some reason. (I genuinely have no idea why Jegulus is a thing. AFAIK, the two only ever interacted at school and only in the form of Griffindorks vs Slitherings; if that.) The other 5% of the time, when he's alive, he has to put up with kid!Harry. Not sure which is worse, tbh.
XD You're not wrong. Poor dude has it rough... In this fic, at least he'll only have to deal with adult(ish)!Harry (and his stupid brother and his Gryffindork friends, but whatever).
I'm not entirely sure how much younger he is than Sirius in canon, so I've made the executive decision that he and Harry are roughly the same age here.
In canon, he died at 17/18 it seems. Regulus Black: 1961-1979 (exact dates unknown) Sirius was born 1959 if the wiki is to be believed. So your 'executive decision' to make Harry and Regulus roughly the same age actually matches up with what we know of canon! What a coincidence!

Can't believe the Black brothers are actually 2 years apart lol. (And Harry has arrived just in the nick of time to keep him from the murder water, so good for him!)
I mean, they went to school together. 2 years apart is actually pretty common among siblings. Even if we don't have even rough dates for a lot of the tertiary cast, like Andromeda Tonks. Personally, if only to support my "2 years apart" theory, I'd say Andromeda was born in '53 to coincide with Bellatrix in '51 and Narcissa in '55. The wiki only says "sometime between 1951 and 1955" though, so less than helpful.
True! My sibling and I are fairly far apart in age, so I tend to forget that other families are different lol.
I've always hc'd Bella and Andy as a year apart, and Narcissa several years after that (both because that would make her the absolute spoiled baby and the disappointment would be stronger when it was realized she wasn't a boy). I definitely like the 2-year theory, though (it def feels like something the Blacks would do-intentionally plan their children on a schedule)
