WHAT AN INCREDIBLE CHARACTER STUDY, I read drive unto death and was transported back to my psych class LOL it was fascinating to read ur a/n at the end
Had she ever - Kafka wonders - shown this side of herself to the departed members of her faction? Had the Trailblaze ever been fully aware of the incandescence of this fallible, apoplectic potential? It stirs her intrigue but leaves her shame untouched. Himeko’s voice is low and her eyes are cold and unforgiving, rage blossoming over a brumous wasteland encased in ice. “I really should have killed you.” omgg………. everything u write is so poetic and this part I love idk it’s just so pretty. A fearful Kafka after the world has already ended…. So interesting
Her chat with Catlio & admission she perhaps didn’t understand herself at all are very interesting too
The silence rings like the discordant shrill of violin strings under a forceful bow, a chorus of disharmony, a dreadful and lonesome shriek that echoes where nobody remains to bear witness. It’s cold, cold in her chest and between her ribs, a chill that seizes and burrows deep, squirming into marrowfat, seeping into her every bone. WOWWW 1) love the violin strings 2) this is so raw and cold. The ending with her hair snapping is so fitting too
Also I guess I walk away shipping these two now. Post-apocalypse fic I love it. I guess it’s been more on my mind recently too what with Finality mentions in the latest update
THANK YOU APODIS - i hope your psych class gave you a little more insight and order into all this chaos bc genuinely 😭😭😭. I think Kafka not really knowing herself is something that's just inherent to her being unable to experience such an integral emotion such as fear - just being unable to perceive every facet of herself, if that makes sense? It's almost like she's colorblind. I said this before but I think it'd be so ironic for her to have her wish fulfilled like this, only for it to utterly consume her in the end. Ough the poetic tragedy in it and the bleakness - I'm weak at the knees.
