This entire chapter was just an excruciating build up of anticipation and tension and all the more brilliant for it, but it also left me foaming at the mouth and hissing "moooooooorrre".
Also, asolutely fascinating scene, to see Tyelpë grapple with that Fëanorian descent. For all his massive faults Fëanáro is a big fascination of mine so I love to see him haunt the narrative.

In this case, the chapter absolutely fulfilled its purpose - though I do hope teasing wasn't the only thing it did!

It's kind of interesting (and telling), I think, that Celebrimbor goes to such great lengths to disavow his heritage, but in the moment when everything else crumbled beneath his feet, it's the tether of his family and his history that he holds onto and which keeps him upright. Celebrimbor is very much not done with working through his family issues. (And I absolutely agree, I love Fëanor and his big, messed up, dysfunctional family, which is why I love it when they make an appearance in Silmarillion stories!)
