This chapter was a HUGE turning point in the story. It's one that I had been looking forward to writing for a long time, about since I started working on Arc 2. Lilly tried fighting against Fens but was no match for her and died as a result, luckily she came back. I think you'll like how her character grows when we see her again. Amara was cruel in how she set up Fen's demise, but it goes to show how much shes grown to care for Lilly and what she'll do if you hurt her friends. I admit I liked writing that moment when she told Fens that she "deserved" what was happening to her.
As for the Tadpole Pond thing, yeah I'll admit that one of my big regrets in regard to this fic was the fact that I didn't really develop the town that much. We never had any focus on individual citizens and stuff like what we had in season one of Amphibia. At the time when I first started writing this fic I wanted to get through the "boring" stuff and get to the chapters I wanted to write. I didn't want to spend time developing the town since I knew it was going to be destroyed, but looking back I realize that was a mistake. I should have developed the town more so that it would have more of an impact when it was destroyed. If I could re-write this fic I would definitely make that change.
