A good rule of thumb is that if any body of government is trying to pass a bill concerning "protecting kids online", you shouldn't trust it as far as you can throw it. These politicians are usually the same people who would flag anything LGBT related as being harmful to kids simply for existing.
And just because this is happening somewhere that wouldn't effect you personally doesn't mean you should ignore it. Don't give any political body an inch when it comes to this shit.
Yep. So jaded these days but then again I went through one of the fanfiction.net crackdowns so yay for Experience.
Also I remember hearing all about an anti privacy bill people were fighting against in the US only to turn around later and hear them talk about how basically the same bill got passed in my own country during _Christmas time_ or something when people weren't paying as much attention, so there you go.
