My biggest what if is this…what if Tywin had a daughter who was the very picture of Joanna but with his political acumen paired with Joanna’s warmth? What if he had a child he could actually be proud of?
Jaime disappointed him when he decided to stay Kingsguard. Tywin could have gotten him released. I’ll grant that Jaime may have not been upset when initially recruited but he didn’t sign up either, Avery’s made him KG as punishment. But Jaime stayed kingsguard by choice perhaps as penance, or out of love or depression
Cersei was always a petulant child to Tywin, he gave her so much power but she did nothing useful with it. If she was smart she would’ve found a way to make Robert at least lust for her…but she treated him with disdain (to be fair Robert started it), and didn’t bother to manipulate him to her side.
And he hated Tyrion.
I want to see Tywin with a child he could be proud of…
He wouldn't have been proud of any kid that wasn't as ruthless as him, and he doesn't deserve to be proud of one anyway. The entire point of his plot is that he believed his ruthlessness was saving and strengthening House Lannister after his father being so weak, and yet he and his kids are actually contributing to it's fall even more than his father because everyone hates them.
