      1. Who is neither a medic nor unarmed. I was trying to make the point that Cap fans -- who are just as dedicated as Iron Man people -- seem unable to acknowledge any of his faults. I can and will admit that Tony (and Rhodes, Pepper, Peter, Vision . . . you know, everyone) do dumb/bad things. The reverse is seldom true, so it seems. And it's tiresome trying to reason with them.

        2. Pararescue are medics. And Sam had both hands open and empty. It is disturbing to hand-wave a man firing upon unarmed people. Tony did the same thing in Ultron and shot Bucky Barnes in the back. None of these are heroic actions.

          1. UIh . . . Barnes wasn't in AoU, so that's an epic fail. And Rogers threw his shield at Tony, unprovoked, based solely on the word of a Hydra terrorist, mind-raping witch. Don't even TRY to talk to me about 'heroic'.

    2. "you know, hurt and kill innocent civilians and destroy roads, bridges, and airports" - No one hurt and killed innocent civilians, no one destroyed roads, bridges, or airports, as all of them were still functional afterward.

Plus, you're comparing apples and oranges. Rhodey wasn't stopping a death squad that was gunning for Tony in that moment. Pepper didn't have a gun to her head.

      1. You -- wow, you're an idiot, aren't you? Go back and rewatch 'Civil War.' Yes, Rogers and his merry idiots destroyed roads and a bridge. THEY started the fight at the airport, which was majorly damaged, if not outright destroyed. So, that argument holds no weight.

And no, there wasn't a 'death squad' after Barnes. You know how smart people know that? Barnes wasn't killed. A death squad would have done it with a sniper from a distance at any point in time from his apartment in Bucharest. They could have killed him 'accidentally' when he was taken into custody, and didn't. Therefore, that argument also holds no weight.

Look, be a Steve Roger/Team Cap fan all you want. That's fine. No one cares. But go to Costco and buy some intelligence, apply it, and realize that a) your guy screwed up royally. Multiple times. And b) even though Tony/Team Iron Man also made mistakes/misjudgments, that doesn't justify Rogers and Co. Ever heard that old saying 'two wrongs don't make a right'? It's true.

And for the love of all that's holy, learn to read. I said I don't mind respectful discourse and debate -- I actually enjoy it quite a bit -- but I also said I will only do so if it's reasonable. Your refusal/inability to admit that Rogers was also in the wrong means this conversation has stopped. I'm not dealing with you anymore; be a team Cap fan, fine, but stop harassing people who understand that he's a class-A jerk. Any more comments from you will be deleted, as they serve no purpose for people interested in reading this fic. I'm not reading pro-Cap stories and trashing him, because a) I don't enjoy them and b) that's just low-class. Go find a better hobby, like beating your head against a brick wall or solving Pi.
