    I have my ways of accessing things in a timely manner that I wouldn't need if broadcasters got with the times and just made things available online immediately... I did that with TAB and then bought it for the special features when it finally showed up at the iTunes store. I can't believe we're only about six weeks away from it. WEEKS! We're no longer talking months!

      I meant to ask, since I remember you getting TAB on iTunes last year - how soon was it available on there, do you remember? I'd like to get season 4 legally and I'm relying on them to put it up VERY soon after ep. 3 airs. Two or three weeks I can live with. But two or three months, I really can't!

        I don't have to remember since I can check my purchase history. :) I bough it on January 11th. I can't remember if I bought it the second it came out, but if I did, that's not too far from the airing of the ep.

        Two to three weeks is still too long for me because it's impossible to avoid spoilers.

          Thanks for checking that for me.

          I think I'll be fine if I just stop being Jolie Black for a couple of weeks, and avoid all fandom-related sites. It's not like any details of the "Sherlock" storyline will make headline news hereabouts...

          At any rate not until it officially airs here, which will probably be June or July. 2018, of course. :p

            I visit sites regularly that will have spoilers and Sherlockian friends I didn't even know I had pop up on Facebook and Twitter with spoilers. I can't avoid social media that long. So I need to be able to watch the eps right when they come out. I used to crave spoilers when I had to wait months, even years, for DVDs to be available, but I realise now how much that takes away from the enjoyment of watching something fresh. TAB was a perfect example. I went in quite cold and sat enrapt for 90 minutes practically holding my breath the whole time. Once it was over and I knew it was brilliant*, I was able to heave a sigh of release and put it right back on to enjoy properly a second time!

            (*I still can't believe it won the Primetime Emmy for best made for TV movie. Sue, Steven, and Mark were obviously VERY stunned by the nomination and even more so with the win.)

            ETA: Your edit came in while I was responding. June or July, AUGH!!! As for you, I have a vision of you grabbing a deer stalker after seeing series four, firing up AO3's posting interface, and saying, "Time to go be Jolie_Black!" ;)

              That IS so true. I was lucky to come to both season 3 and TAB not knowing at all what was coming (except that Sherlock was coming back after Reichenbach, obviously), and I really wouldn't want to trade that "first viewing" experience for anything, either.

                With series 3, I was so not a fan at that point, just had casual interest, that I didn't even give the series my full attention. I was knitting something and more focused on that. It wasn't until Sherlock got shot that I sat up and paid attention. HLV ended and I immediately queued up ASIP to start the series all over! So the wait for TAB and S4 has been my first taste of the sweet agony that is waiting for more Sherlock and it is hard not to accept the tiny scraps that are fed to us in the form of Setlock spoilers.

                    Interesting that "I'd love to see a picture" of that was taken as a negative opinion when it was just a statement that I'd love to see a picture and THEN make my opinion. ;)
