    I do love the story, but I have to say Daemon thinking about how Viserys has always been supportive made me laugh. Viserys was an awful brother to Daemon, he constantly banished him, kept him in an unlawful marriage to a woman he hated, removed him from positions of power all on the word of Otto Hightower. Sorry, I'm not a Daemon stan, lord knows that man made foolish decisions, but Viserys was my least favorite character. He was a week willed, easily manipulated fool. A bad husband, an awful father and a terrible king. It was his failures that set up the dance. If he has a set of balls and just did his job, paid attention to his family dynamics and put a stop to all the problems that were obvious to everyone, punished his wife for declaring war, etc...well things might have actually been better. He could have had a strong legacy instead of what he ended up with because he wanted to live in denial and his desire to be Viserys the peaceful.

      I am not sure which part of the chapter about Viserys’ support made you laugh, but if it is this one:

      “Seeing his brother’s poor state, Daemon desperately searched his mind for some words of comfort, he truly wanted to be that figure — like Viserys was for him when their mother died, and then the father…”

      In this case I am writing (and Daemon is reminiscing) about their childhood and younger years. Back then, when there was no weight of the crown, I do believe (and it is stated in the book and was somehow mentioned in the show) Viserys was a supportive elder brother, especially when their mother died and then the father.

      The roots of the Dance is a controversial issue, we cannot single out just one responsible person and blame him for that. As for Viserys, he could and should have done much more, if only he had not been constantly undermined by his whole family.

      Anyway, this fanfic is just a phantasy of how the story could develop, if the relationships between two brothers and Rhaenyra were not that complicated and filled with negativity. It can digress from all the peculiarities of their character and interactions in canon, I apologise for that. Yet, it is very liberating to imagine, write and, I hope, read this story in a more positive light.🤗

        Thank you for writing back!!! I do love the story, it's just irritating to 'see' characters making really stupid choices, that you just know will cause problems. I didn't read the books but the show drove me crazy, lol. It's like they sabotaged themselves all the damn time. Anywho, keep writing, I need good entertainment, lol!!!! I listen to these stories to keep me entertained while I work my 10 hour shifts.
