Obsessed with the fact that from an outside perspective you can see the captain getting all flustered, but he's subtle enough and Pat doesn't know him well enough that it goes pretty much unnoticed.
Impressive that in all of the speculation about why the Captain was being so weird not a single person considered "crippling social anxiety" as an option.
If the Captain had gone to therapy like a good boy, the story would have ended halfway through the first chapter and with "They lived happily ever after" 😅
Is that what we want? Is it?
In my experience, the only people that are aware of social anxiety are those that have it 😄
Everyone else just looks on in bafflement.
