I had to do a double take when I saw the notification for this update. Saying I’m ecstatic would be an understatement, honestly.

^^That’s literally all I could think the whole chapter. If Regulus is this down bad even in the presence of Evan, I can’t imagine how Barty feels being literally confined far away from his friends.
I can imagine Barty -locked up alone and likely going internally mad- feeling a phantom chill go down his spine when Evan started up with the sports metaphors.
The way you write Regulus is absolutely my favorite thing. The dude is both the most oblivious person while also being the most observant. He’s seriously got such a one-track mind, and if he starts to veer even slightly he gets back on the track before he can have even the slightest bit of fun. I swear someone could tell Regulus they are in love with him and he’d only think “how could I use this in the war” LMAOAOA (not Evan though -CERTAINLY not Evan. If Evan said that at this point in the story I think Regulus would burst into ashes on the spot) Someone please short-circuit Regulus’ brain so he can’t think about the war for a few seconds and get him to go frolic in a field or something, the dude deserves a break.
This chapter was worth the year wait, and I could wait many more for the next chapter if needed. No pressure on the updates, this story is worth waiting for! I hope you have a very good, and relaxing end of the year!

i ADORE regulus's one-track mind, he's Focused he has Priorities (yeah i think regulus would fully just explode). regulus would be frolicking in that field thinking about the war for sure. evan would have to like, kiss him or something to get him to stop (that would short circuit his brain pretty effectively)
