Comment on Child of Chaos and Destiny

  1. "Ash Ketchum is a Danger Magnet"

You know what? You're right, that SHOULD be a tag. It's certainly accurate, lol.

"it was just because apparently the sperm donor had dark hair that he had black hair in common with Diantha"

For the record, you absolutely CAN pick and choose what physical traits that you want in a sperm donor. Sperm banks keep catalogs of their donors, and couples looking to utilize, their uh "product", are encouraged to look through them in order to find somebody that they like. Only the name is kept anonymous, but things like height, weight, hair and eye color, etc are all in the catalog.

If this line didn't exist, I'd otherwise assume that Cynthia, Delia, and Diantha deliberately picked a donor who resembled Diantha (Delia has... auburn hair? Eh, it's reddish-brown anyway, so let's call her a redhead. Brunette is dominant over Red. So Ash was basically a guaranteed Brunette, lol) so that Ash would at least somewhat look like her even if he isn't her biological child. That's VERY common with couples who choose to go the sperm donor route, people like their kids to look like them. Lmao

"Cynthia, being the only one of the three who had living family"

Not going the route of having Professor Sycamore be Diantha's brother? Nor have Opal be her grandmother? I know that you've depicted both as her family members before, so interesting choice.

"Diantha had been far more selective, only Wikstrom and Drasna of her Elite Four knew"

Also interesting, is there any specific reason for this? I'll freely admit that I only watched the anime religiously up until to the end of Sinnoh, so I'm not AS familiar with the latter half of the anime as I am with the first half, but I like to think that my viewing habits weren't so sporadic that I completely missed Diantha not getting along with half of her Elite Four for some reason. Lmao

"Diantha already throwing out a pokeball she had grabbed."

Cynthia: *Renowned for keeping a cool head, even in the heat of battle.*

Also Cynthia: *Is so shocked by the appearance of a misunderstood Pokemon in her wife's hospital room that her OTHER wife has to be the one to send out a Pokemon to defend them all if need be.*

"Especially with Diantha's Gardevoir here as well and Diantha always wore her key stone necklace. Shit was Gardevoir effective against Absols?"

Uh, Cynthia? Doesn't Mega Evolution produce A LOT of energy? I'm not certain doing it IN A HOSPITAL is advisable.

For the record, Gardevoir are Psychic/Fairy. While Dark types like Absol are immune to Psychic type attacks and are super effective against Psychic types in general, Gardevoir's secondary Fairy typing should negate all of that. Dark is weak to Fairy and Dark type attacks aren't very effective against them either.

"Diantha only quirked an eyebrow and Gardevoirs eyes glowed as it communed with the Absol psychically before hesitating and then turning and nodding at her human who relaxed."

Nice way to incorporate Gardevoir, although her having telepathy kiiiiiind of makes the Absol being telepathic himself redundant. Lol

"Absol's don't even live in Kanto region. Whatever disaster he foresaw near Ash was so bad he traveled at least a region and a half just to get here. With his pup." Diantha pointed out and her voice was tense and almost an octave higher than normal."

I see that Diantha is putting her training as an actress to good use, lmao.

"He probably wouldn't mind actually, he had been very protective of Delia."

Psst, Cynthia's Garchomp is canonically a female. Male Garchomp have a notch in their dorsal fin, female Garchomp don't.

"Diantha nodded slowly in agreement, she had to call Drasna and let her know about Ash being born heathy and safely and then about the apparent prophecy of doom and disaster over his head...she made an idle note that that could be a decent movie or series script later."

You know, isn't one of the Gym Leaders of Kalos a genuine Seer? It's Olympia... I think? I swear that I have a memory of her having some sort of premonition about Ash and Co being involved in a disaster. (Probably the shit Lysandre and Team Flare pulled in the last season of Kalos.)

Anyway, if I'm right - Wouldn't it be absolutely HILARIOUS if Diantha just gets a call out of the blue one day from Olympia asking if she has a son? And when Diantha hesitantly confirms that she does, Olympia just completely info dumps about the many, many, MANY visions that she's been having about him since his birth. Lol, lol, lol.

For added fun: Diantha just ends up writing everything Olympia says down so she can later go over it all with Cynthia and Delia. They try their upmost to puzzle out just how many world-ending events Ash will apparently be involved in, before they just end up putting the whole idea on the back burner (IE: Give up to preserve their nerves and sanity).

XD I will admit that Diantha taking notice of her son's life already being worthy of gracing the screen is deeply amusing to me. Maybe if she ever decides to retire from acting, she can become a script-writer. She certainly has plenty of material to work with.

"Cynthia idly realized that she might have to restrain Lance from giving her newborn something like a Dragonite egg...or a Dratini."

Wouldn't it be a Dratini egg since Dratini are the members of the Dragonite line who actually hatch out of eggs?

"Wait wait no, Drasna he's too little for an Axew! Well...apparently an Absol sensed so much danger around him that he traveled across a region to just give Ash one of his pups...no...no Drasna no! He's not even three hours old! He does not need a bunch of baby dragons to go with the Absol!"

XD At this rate, Ash is going to have a full team ready to go even before he starts out on his journey. Poor Pikachu is going to feel so over-shadowed.
