01) As soon as i saw "not the first time" regarding Mario going to the Moon i knew that was a reference to Thousand-Year Door, one of the rare times where Bowser had nothing to do with Peach getting kidnapped.
01A) Mario's actually gone way farther than the Moon twice; both of those times were Bowser's doing. The first time it happened Mario ended up getting some assistance from a particularly-tall platinum-blonde in a turquoise dress and silver high heels, while part of his Odyssey adventure involved a reunion with a brunette in red with black ankle-strap high heels who's about as tall as the platinum-blonde.
02) The water pump and the giant paintbrush from Sunshine are there? So this water pump hasn't been named the Flash Liquidizing Ultra Dousing Device (FLUDD for short) yet?
03) A Poltergust with a tank of some green liquid? I spy a Poltergust G-00.
04) Poltergust 3001 i believe is from Superstar Saga, as is Starbeans Cafe. Poltergust 4000 is a kart option that starts out exclusive to Luigi in Mario Kart DS.
05) Luigi, you may want to stock up on 1-Ups if this "apparition" is gonna send you where i think it is.
Great observation, my friend! As for the answers...
1- Indeed, I'm referencing the moon trip from Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door, you were right on the money.
1A - You are correct, I kinda forgot Galaxy existed since it has been years since the last time I played it (around 10 years ago? Gosh, I'm old). I'll fix that in a new chapter.
2 - Since in this timeline, the events of Super Mario Sunshine haven't happened yet, E. Gadd still hasn't finished both the brush and FLUDD. In this timeline, Sunshine only happens 1 week prior to Luigi going to Kivotos. Also, since Sunshine hasn't happened but Partners in Time has, it kinda suggests that FLUDD is a portable version of the Hydrogush 4000.
3- Hehe, Gooigi is back in action.
4 - Indeed, but there is one more Poltergust that a lot of people don't know about... The Poltergust 1000 was used on a flash game Nintendo used to advertise Luigi's Mansion on his site! The name of the game was PolterCue, if I don't recall. It is a smaller, hand-size version of the Poltergust 3000, it's adorable <3
5 - This Luigi works with the Heart system from Luigi's Mansion, so there's no need to worry about 1-ups... But how is he going to revive, huh? Hehe...
1) Not only am i currently playing the Switch remake of Thousand-Year Door, but one of my first fanfictions was a spin on it that swaps out Mario in favor of my main version of Galaxy Angel II's Anise Azeat.
1A) The platinum-blonde that was introduced in Galaxy very quickly became my overall favorite Mario character. I still mainly use Luigi in games where Rosalina's not playable.
2) Yeah, canon never gave a specific timeline regarding where Partners in Time and Sunshine happened in relation to each other. Also, you're not the first person to put one event as happening after another when it's normally considered as happening before, there's a fic called 'Metroid X' that puts Fusion before Prime 2 instead of after.
5) Might still want to have some 1-ups just in case Polterpup doesn't come to Kivotos with him. I haven't played 3, but i think Polterpup serves as the revive mechanic in it. (The only Luigi's Mansion game i've played is the first, but i didn't get far past Boolossus the Area 3 boss)
