    I'd also really love to be able to split out primary vs. secondary characters, and also primary vs. secondary/background pairings -- right now I tend to go with listing background pairings in my summary rather than using tags, because I don't want a story with one throwaway mention of Bob/Ted to clutter up searches for actual Bob/Ted stories, but that's clunky.
