Comment on Wukong's Story

  1. This story made me sad. Social injustice always has been a horrible travesty that has happened way too often. It makes me want to protect the victims from the perpetrators and i feel angry that I can’t. The story is sad in that pretty much all of the gods have mortal origins but have forgotten or have hidden it even from themselves so as to better exert power that they mostly only get from deceaveing others into agreement that it exists. Much like monarchy power is an illusion that only functions because majority of people believe it, which means that wukong being able to wreck everyone makes a lot of sense. The pilgrims crimes were to be an eyesore that a high ranking person wanted to harm, mostly because they could not because it was lawful or righteous. I do like how it portrayed the corruption in the celestial court though, so it is well written and a good read.
