“What’s the Telegony? Isn’t that my son’s name?” -One of the Odysseuses we have running around. Odysseï? … actually I think you’ll appreciate the full conversation here so you get it.

    Odysseus: [see above]
    Me: It’s a post-Homeric epic. You die.
    Odysseus: I what?
Me: Yeah and then Telemachus marries Circe
Odysseus: THAT WITCH BASTARD NO HE IS NOT GETTING ANYWHERE CLOSE TO HER…. Etc
Me: And then Telegonus marries Penelope.
    Odysseus: *confused blinking*
Me: Because Athena commanded them to
    Odysseus: Huh?

Bazonka is one of my favorite boob words actually. (“It makes them sound like weapons- -Percy / Precisely -Neth)
TL; DRs are so stupid. Like come on. Just read the damn thing it’s not that hard. (Also call me a boomer but attention spans are so short nowadays- what ever happened to wanting detail?)
Fun fanc - That’s so cool!!! That singular distinction is one of my favorite little Things about Latin and I love that it carried into Italian too. It’s great that english isn’t gendered because it makes life much easier for me as a non-binary person and non-binary people in general but also we lose some fun things. :(

What??? But? But Rome is so cool?? I mean actually there are a LOT of touristy crowds so it kinda sucks but it’s generally cool and it has so many artifacts from all over the ancient world. Even I’ve been to Rome and I’m american . I mean it was only for a day but still. (We were riding the train from Venice to Milan and had to switch anyway so we opted for a 6 hour layover instead of one, so we could see the city a bit) (It wasn’t a personal attack but it is now you should go to Rome.) /lh
But yeah I love it so much. I’ve been rotating that stele in my brain the way I usually rotate Odysseus (I’ve been taken off the microwave plate! Huzzah! -Odysseus)

Neth did you tell them about the fic? -Percy / No -Neth / You should it’s really good -Percy / Nuh uh -Neth

Did you know it’s 80 cm tall and life size. She was so small. She was so so small and she’ll never see dawn’s rosy fingers ever again. Y’know what the funny thing is? She’d be long dead by now, even if she had lived a full life. So it shouldn’t matter. Maybe it doesn’t, in the grand scheme of things. What’s the difference between being dead for 2470 years and being dead for 2410? Not much, really. But it does. It matters so much. -Neth
Ok because Neth is being a damn coward, *I’m* telling you about the fic. They wrote a fic(let) about the girl and it’s fabulous and super sad. It’s on their ao3 page, titled “Marble grave stele of a little girl” (I know, so creative. -Neth) and you should totally read it. -Percy
He makes it sound better than it is- -Neth
    I do not. -Percy

All gossip is hyperbole anyway, so i think we get to hyperbolize about gossip.

Worst thing about being a system is we can only leave kudos once despite being at least ten readers. /lh. We could start commenting as multiple though, if you’re chill with that. It would be the Greek bros tho, so. Idk some people don’t like introjects reading their fic-

-Neth (For clarity’s sake, it was me the whole time unless it was the part where I was quoting Odysseus or one of Percy’s many interruptions.

    1. (╥﹏╥) I read your fic and now I'm mornin for a little girl (╥﹏╥) I sympatize also because I'm sure that before modern medicine I wouldn't have made it until adult age probably, I was always ill.
...you are mean to suggest the father would have sacrificed the doves T.T it makes sense because like that they would join the girl, and yet... tears...

Huh? - reasonable reaction to the Telegony - which is a stupid bad fanfic anyway. The Telegonus Penelope is just... no. NO.

I have been trying to visit Rome, but I have also being fighting depression (and winning so far so yay for me), so organizing something as complicated and many-steps (stuff that requires a lot of vague steps made of so many little steps is just... not great for me. Autism? Adhd? No idea) as a travel to Rome I think it's beyond what I am able to do at the moment. Maybe with people, but my friends' schedules never coincide :(

I’ve been taken off the microwave plate! Huzzah! -Odysseus - AHAHAHAH freeeeee nah I'm sure he'll be back on the plate eheh

If it's ok with you I'd keep your comments like this for now because I'm easily overwhelmed ^^'

        Its. So. Sad.
I don’t think he would’ve sacrificed them at her funeral. But. I think he might’ve the next Aphrodosia. He would’ve taken them from their cage, separate from all the others. Still living in glory, in richer situations than their brethren. And he’d fed them just how she did. And he’d cared for them. But it pained him every time he saw them. He needed to move on, didn’t he? And they would’ve died, anyway. He was sparing them the suffering of old age. And if he was sparing himself, too, well. Who could blame him? And it hurt so much, to be reminded of her. To see them without her. Maybe it would make him feel better. Help him move on. So he added them to the lot set to be taken to purify the alter. His wife was furious. Didn’t talk to him for a week. He didn’t care. He was free of those birds, free of their reminders. He didn’t feel any better.
Oh, look at that. A whole mini epilogue. Hm. This is what I mean by it will not leave me alone .

Fr. That was my first reaction to learning of if, iirc. Which I might not, it’s been. So long.

Yeah that’s entirely fair. Especially cause Rome is verrryyyy overstimulating. So many tourists- honestly it’s worse than new York because there are a lot of people just standing around gawking.

Oh he will be. He will be. (Why do I feel threatened… (/lh) -Odysseus) I’m rereading the Odyssey (Lattimore’s translation, this time) so I can make my own list of epithets (finally got sick of wikipedia’s huge gaps in the homeric epithets articles) and ooo its so good. I feel like it gets better every time i read.

        okay! that’s totally fair! :] /gen
