    "she and Luz seem to be pretty close together." Hard to say. We don't have any information on how quickly basilisks mature, but Camila seems to treat Vee as somewhat older / more mature than Luz. It's implied that she was teaching Vee to drive a car, Vee seems to have been left to supervise the Hexsquad when Camila and Luz were out, and she trusted Vee to manage her business while she'd be away for an unknown time.

    And yes, Luz is 14 at the start of the series. Her 15th birthday is some time after the finale, implied to be in spring.
