    I will confess, I was not a Percy fan when I first read the books as a teenager. However, as an adult, I’ve come to appreciate him more and more.

    As an adult, it's clear that all the people you're supposed to like and sympathize with are actually kinda awful in various ways, and the people you're supposed to jeer at are treated *really* unkindly by the narrative for, in most cases, no real reason. (Okay, obviously Petunia and Vernon and the adult Malfoys deserve their shaming.)
