I understand what you're saying, but Harry wouldn't be the first, let alone the only one, who blames themselves for failings that are not their fault. Harry becomes friends with Luna and regrets not having done more to help her, despite it being the responsibility of the professors to help her. But that won't stop Harry from being upset with himself for not taking the time to help her despite what he was going through. He got through everything with little to no physical trauma, unlike Luna, who while he called her his friend he didn't feel like he acted like her friend.
It's easy to call someone a friend, but it takes more effort to be their friend. Harry doesn't want to regret not putting in the effort, so since he doesn't have the stress of the situation hitting him as hard, he wants to step up and be better for everyone he can.
It's easier to handle his own problems, because he has had all summer to plan and plot how to deal with everything, so he feels he can help others more than he had from the previous timeline. That him might have failed, but this him has the foreknowledge to succeed.
Oh I know I was just pointing out that Harry shouldn’t be so hard on Future Past dead Harry because he had zero experience in the situation and it didn’t help that their in separate houses and the fact that Harry didn’t like attention so he wouldn’t do anything that would make him get more attention If anything that his you know what I am just going to call him Death Harry for now on because otherwise it’s gets confusing is that Harry should have been more proactive and instead of waiting for others to help him he should have helped himself and looked foe answers himself to and he should have use common sense to take advantage of not being with his non magic relatives to not only learn but to go beyond heck talk to the teachers that knew his parents asked them about them ask his head of house about them get any and all information he could that way he could figure out a way to leave his non magical family and get stronger and smarter and to get his medicine records update these are the things that he should have done the first time around but he couldn’t but now he can But in the last time line Harry couldn’t be the friend Luna needed because he doesn’t know what actually a healthy relationship of any kind looks like so it needs work on both ends their
MoD Harry was manipulated and potioned to not question things, this led him to die early because of the way he got rid of the horcrux in his head, it basically gave him magical cancer and accelerated his aging and caused him to die early. Current Harry has all the information without any of the baggage, and his goal that he set for himself was to not gain any. He wants to go through his life preventing as many bad outcomes as he can, rather than just saving himself, because he has a saving people thing. He has friends that he wants to help, and he subconsciously blames himself for failing them, even if they understood that he had a lot of pressure forced onto him by all the bullshit that went on throughout the year.
Luna wouldn't blame him for focusing on not being eaten by a dragon, she wouldn't blame him for being pressured to figure out what the judges were going to steal from him and drop into the bottom of the lake, and she wouldn't be upset he was twitchy and scared as he wondered what things were hiding and waiting to kill him in a hedge maze after having to fight a dragon and breathe underwater for an hour and fighting a mer village. Despite all the horrible things that happen to her throughout the year that made her miserable.
With all that C. Harry knows, he also blames Albus for the suffering of his friends, found family, and himself. If Albus hadn't orchestrated for Sirius to be stuck in Azkaban, he wouldn't have suffered through the Dursleys, if he hadn't kept his family history from him, he would have been able to connect with more people, if he had taught him about his position in life he wouldn't have made a fool of himself in front of his peers. Albus in this story has been plotting Harry's death since he was prophesized to defeat Voldemort. Harry now knows this and knows how to deal with Voldemort without Albus, and was given a walkthrough to punich the old meddler for all the damage he tries to do. And don't worry, Albus will be punished...
Maybe one of these days I should write a story that doesn't have Albus bashing... maybe.
