There has definitely been an "odd-couple" vibe about the Daidoji-Kuni friendship the whole way through. :-) I love that so many of their disagreements, and their moments of connection, happen with so few words spoken. They spend an inordinate amount of time trying to parse body-language and behaviour cues through the lens of two different upbringings, and I think the moments of frustration and the moments of enlightenment as they misread and then finally understand intent have led to a deeper connection than either of them will ever verbalize.
Not so much on the words, those two.
The Kuni family as a whole is pleased with the Tetsunotaka-Goro situation. They have found a use for the Daidoji they were 'gifted' with to fulfil what the Crane saw as a debt of honour (and the Kuni saw as a "Yeah, so what if it's a Crane village? That's Shadowlands shit... fuck that noise") and the two of them are off being useful. And more Kuni to fight the Shadowlands is always a thing to be celebrated, even if their parentage isn't all that could be wished for. And yeah... the matchmaker will probably sigh and start looking at the more pragmatic matches, ones who will be willing to ignore the fact that there is evidence of their spouse's libido toddling around.
