   Ah, it was "the cultivating force" by esama. Unfinished like a lot of their stories, but very fun!

   What Shen Qiao does and doesn't know is always up in the air, even in TA canon. He does know he's supposed to be SQQ, YQY filled him in on day 1, but the name feels wrong to him. He would use it to introduce himself, since he doesn't remember his own. In his head, Shen Qiao uses "I" to refer to himself. The reason I keep calling him Shen Qiao when he refers to himself in the story is to showcase the contrast to Shen Yuan, who threw all reservations overboard and started thinking of himself only as SQQ almost immediately, and Shen Qiao, who is maintaining a solid, stubborn degree of separation between who he is (and who his instincts are telling him he is) vs who contextual clues are telling him he is supposed to be.
