Comment on Bluebird In My Heart

  1. I wanted to include more characters since Shirley and Lelouch will be a duo here, there will be other duos as well. Kallen and Doumeki being a tag team felt too good to pass up, and their similarities and differences were too good to pass up.

Shirley I've always hc'd as being the historian of the student council AKA the one who makes complete and accurate records of the student council. This lines up with her keeping so many photos in canon already, and it's reflected in how Shirley focuses on gathering evidence of this bullshit. Add on the righteous fury of witnessing Shinjuku and Clovis' conduct and Shirley is set up on a war path.

CC has gone through some shit; if she had been alive with Lelouch, I imagine she would've been the one to take Clovis' life. Shirley just existing in canon changed Lelouch's trajectory at pivotal times; she holds some of the most tremendous power in the cast.

As for Clovis himself, it was super fun writing his POV: racist and dismissive of everything but what he wants yet incredibly loving of those he considers family. And despite learning that his hate for Japan was in vain since Lelouch was alive, Clovis doesn't change the way he thinks.

    Thanks for the formatting tip!

    1. The cackling of excitement I'm doing right now! All of this sounds fun!

Honestly that does work with Shirley! So she's going to get all the evidence and then decide what to do with them with Lelouch.

Clovis is so fun there. He's trapped in the world he's raised in. Also he's more funny having finally gotten into Gundam 79. I can TELL now how much he's taken from Garma just filtered through other media and influences. So ignorant to the damage he's done in a way.

      Glad to help! XD

      1. I'm so very pleased I've elicited such reactions from you ^_^

Yep! Since they've got a lot more knowledge on Code R, and Geass as a result, they've got a lot more options at their disposal.

Clovis is interesting in that we only discover his layers after he died, which casts a lot of questions on him. Especially his involvement with Code R and how he got his hands on CC in the first place.

I've not seen Gundam 79, so I'll trust your judgement.

        1. That's going to be so fun! I look forward to it!

It's one of those fun things that come from Gundam and interestingly enough Revolutionary Girl Utena; people got layers and contradictions in them!

It's honestly a great show. There's a reason it's endured so long. It's fun and hits you in the feels a lot. Can recommend it genuinely!
