I love how realistically their relationship has developed over the years. They're still so in love but willing to be a bit annoyed at each others weird habits and stubbornness. They FEEL like they have been married for a long time.
I love the redo of the first date. The real first date is a chapter I reread a lot, and I'm still as frustrated as Katniss about her not getting to kiss him then, so seeing them repeat it without the awkwardness and getting to kiss is beautiful.
I have been bouncing off the walls since the teaser you dropped on Tumblr for this chapter. I laughed at Katniss' insistence to go to the lake and literally said to myself "Girl, there is no way that man it going to let you walk to the lake and back almost 8 months pregnant, but I love your enthusiasm!" And thank Gods I was proven right.
As always, incredibly excited for the next update when it's ready. Can't wait to see Asterid return after so many chapters (slightly wondering if she ever did move on from Burdock as you implied when they visit District 4 in I Just Need This Love Spiral? Totally fine not to get an answer at all just wondered).
Ahh thank you! In response to Asterid...I think I'm leaving her open to interpretation. I go back and forth between "she started a new life in her early forties and could easily find love again" and "ok but she and Burdock are literally soulmates." Both feel totally valid to me so it's hard to commit to one or the other. The scene in district 4 was mostly meant to highlight the fact that Asterid does have an entire new life and Katniss needing to work through that. And as for the discovery Katniss made in her cabinet...maybe Asterid does just give them out to patients in need (especially in a low population Panem where birth control may be hard to access), and maybe she...doesn't ;)
