Comment on An Enemy From The Long Gone Past.

  1. Yeah, Gaza and the so-called West Bank was under occupation. It happen during 1948 thru 1967 when Jordan control the so-called West Bank and Egypt control Gaza. These 2 Arab nations could have created a Palestinian state if they wanted to before Israel regain control of these 2 lands.

    1. ...why are you typing 'so-called'? it is the West Bank. That is what the place is called. Usually someone says 'so-called' because it's in doubt or they don't believe it, but... it is called The West Bank. What about that do you not believe?

Also it's not 'was' under occupation, they still are. By Israel, since, 1967.

However, I did look up whether Egypt and Jordan have had occupation over Gaza and the West Bank, and you are right, they did hold occupation over the territories until 1967, when Israel took the territories. I do want to thank you for telling me this, as much as I am disappointed that I didn't know as much of the history as I thought I did, I'm glad to know more now, like they say, better late than never, right?

Perhaps they could have established a Palestinian state in the time between 1948 and 1967, but they didn't. And saying that they could have or should have isn't going to change anything. Israel has still held occupation over the Palestinian people for 58 years, and Hamas was formed while Israel held the occupation over them.

      1. The 'West Bank' is not the true name of that land. It's Jordan that gave that land that name. It really 2 Israeli lands called Judea and Samaria, which is the biblical name for those lands. I have no idea on where the Palestinians should have their homeland, but it shouldn't be in Israeli land.
