      Thank you, ReadingWritingComplete! I'm glad you liked it. I think I'm probably in the fandom minority in that I don't see River as a pathetic fuck-up. Especially if you read the books, River is quite competent, he's just had some shite luck. Jack Lowden is on record as trying to play the part with some humor, which lends itself to fans viewing him as more of a disaster, but if you look past those bits, he's actually not a bad spy. Anyway, in S1 or S2 (can't remember, they all blur together in my head at this point), he goes to see his grandfather and the OB says, "you can cook" and tosses the knife on the counter, which I absolutely take to mean that River knows his way around a kitchen. I try to write my River as competent in his job but emotionally vulnerable. Anyway, I blather now - sorry. Thanks for reading and stopping to comment!😘😘

        I definitely agree with that lol. He wouldn't be involved in nearly so many messes if he wasn't as good as he is! But bad luck is one hell of a force and unfortunately he takes the brunt of it. I love your portrayal of River and Louisa and I think you do them great justice!
