Comment on Glory to Humanity

  1. I love these new comments coming from the readers—they really make me happy that I was able to convey such things and not have it be too convoluted. It gives me confidence that I'll execute everything clearly in the end.

    Anyway...

The lieutenant is a tsundere asshole. Yeah, that's kinda the point of his character and the way he was designed to be when first making this story. He's a walking-talking contradiction, and that was intentional. His words don't match his actions, well, at least in most cases—the whole correcting Vos from "Lina" to "Nia" line... I think it's one of the only lines in the entire story that has him showcase his actual thought and care for the Nikkes through words... though there are like 180k+ words in this story and I've probably forgotten a few lines atp. To bring back the conversation, yeah. He's a more action-oriented rather than words type of person. His past simply doesn't allow him to convey himself well enough.

As for your request...heh... you'll see when we get there. I won't give hope nor crush it. The way the story is going now, it can go either way.

And yeah, I guess this story is a harem of sorts, but not one that intrudes on the story too much with melodrama or fluff, I don't think... besides the whole subplot of Rose and the lieutenant stuff... and now with the Scarlet stuff—but that's for like next volume or something. My thoughts when writing these people liking the lieutenant was that they brought at least something to the table that adds to his character. Like Rose being his human connection, Scarlet being his leadership, Cinderella being his beauty, Siren (I haven't really fleshed it out that much yet) being his good heart and... Red Shoes being all his... body....yeah.

There's probably more I'm missing, but it's early in the morning and I'm a bit scatterbrained.

Oh, and finally, the meta commentary thing. It's just something that I added in the earlier volumes. I don't think it's prevalent in the recent ones, but it was something I added because I was bored when writing those volumes, lol.

Anyway, I've yapped a bit too much. Have a good day!

    1. It's the least I can do for you providing me with such a good story :D

That quote is certainly very memorable, I think it's one of the highlights of the story. Big moments like jumping in front of a bullet to save another and that type of thing makes it seem more like the mc is just selfless, as opposed to him having a very strong connection to that person (Depending on the context of course, for example the mc in this story it would be a big moment if he gave his life for a Nikke, but I think you got it lol) but something as small as not wanting someone to call Nia by the wrong name shows that he does actually care a lot

I'm a very big romance guy, and while I wish there was more because I'm a sucker, I think you wrote it quite well, the 'harem' aspect feels natural instead of 10 women throwing themselves at a guy for little to no reason

You saying that about the ending is really ominous D: but you obviously just don't want to give spoilers... I hope

I don't mind the yapping, I like having conversations, have a good day too dude!

      1. I mean, Red Hood called the lieutenant cute, so that has to stand for something. Speaking of those two, I loved writing their interactions. Imagine someone entirely done with life meeting someone who has the optimism of a baby duckling (And the perversion of an average isekai protagonist) and having them try to hold a conversation together. I thought it was funny.

I kinda feel bad that I pushed the OG Goddess Squad to the side for Old Tales, but we are in the latter half of Old Tales Part 2 and going into Overzone after this, so I don't feel too bad as I might.

Oh! This reminds me. I don't think I've ever mentioned what the lieutenant looks like, like... at all. I think that's a good accomplishment. I almost slipped up in volume... 4 I think, when he was interacting with Snow White by almost giving him blue eyes, but someone pointed it ou,t and I erased it from existence. But, I mean I think that's the whole point of what he is... The only person who describes him, even vaguely, is Red Hood and any decent-looking person could be considered "cute," and all.

heh maybe I should make a one-shot book and its just Red Hood getting on the lieutenant's nerves.
