Synopsis
KOUGAMI, INC. is a multi-billion corporation that has it's fingers in many cakes... err, "pies".
(The figurative kind, of course.)
Of all of these ventures, its most prominent (and lucrative) is its powerhouse record label DESIRE, which is reknowned for its diverse choice of musical acts. The most famous of the acts signed under DESIRE are The Greeeds: a multi-platinum group composed of frontman/lyricist "Ankh", composer/synth-master "Kazari", bassist "Uva", rhythm guitarist "Gamel" and drummer/female vocalist "Mezool".
But trouble brews as months and months worth of rumors of in-fighting between the members results in Ankh walking out three weeks before the group is scheduled to launch their fifth studio album. Inside sources whisper of a change-up in terms of band management and sure enough, one week before the album launch, The Greeeds hold a press conference to clear the air with some incredibly shocking news:
First, Ankh and The Greeeds have parted ways due to 'creative differences'. Second, The Greeeds will be transferring to DESIRE's sub-label, EndTimes Records; moreover, all subsequent musical releases will be done so under a new name: Doctor Maki and The Greeeds. Lastly, the album launch will proceed, but to mitigate any potential "conflicts in interest" changes have been made to the track listing of songs.
