Summary
Humans were always so strange about aging, seeing it as some sort of weakness.
But a flower was always beautiful. It was beautiful in the beginning, as a bud. It was beautiful at the end, when the last petal finally fell from the stem. And the memory of the flower from start to finish was a treasure in and of itself.
(Titus had a tin of memories filled with precious mementos from equally precious humans. When Nyx died, a gray braid with beads was added to it.)Series

Summary
There was a dragon in the mountains that surrounded Crowe’s home. Or, well, stories said there was a dragon. The morning after her parents died, and it became clear her remaining family wasn’t going to take her in, she climbed those damned mountains intending to find out if it was really there or not. She figured there were worse places to be than a mountain cave, if there wasn’t actually a dragon there.

Crowe Week 2019 day 7 . black & au of your choice
More than a few people had commented on the strangeness of Crowe’s daggers. The twin blades were dark gray (almost black), with a tinge of red, rather than the usual silvery sheen of metal.
More than a few people had also wondered what they were made of, and, well, she didn’t have an answer to that.
(She didn’t mind how strange they looked. They were useful, and that was good enough for her.)Series

draucorweek day 4: “Ha! How in the name of Bahamut do you get yourself into these situations?” // Cor finding out Drautos is Glauca
It all started out when Cor had overheard a conversation between some glaives. “Glauca would never betray the country like that,” a feminine voice had shouted, and Cor had been determined to quickly walk past the group. It was strange that someone was willing to defend the general of the Niflheim army, but well there were stranger things. “Glauca is the dragon who looked over my village and he would never help Niflheim.” At the word dragon, his feet had come to a stop, his attention sharpening on the conversation despite himself. “He saved our village from the Nifs, and rose up from his cave to take down their ships when they attacked. Took down nearly half their attacking force with it so we could get away safely! Why would he be helping the Nifs?”
There was only one dragon that Cor was aware of that had been foolhardy enough to take down half the Niflheim army, and wasn’t it fortunate he had just been on his way to talk to him?

draucorweek day 1 prompts: “let me sleep you horrible human” // Titus being injured on the field and Cor having to take care of him
“Let me sleep, you horrible human,” Titus groaned into the pillow.
He stopped from where he was prodding the bullet holes to stare blankly at the man. His eyes narrowed. “I’m not human and you know it.” He got a quiet exhale in return. A toothy smirk spread across his face. “Or would you like me to shift into my actual form and peck the bullets out? I’ll have you know I’m larger than this apartment and it would be very uncomfortable for the both of us.”
“And I’m bigger than the entire apartment block,” Titus replied sleepily back. “What’s your point?”
Cor stared pointedly at his bedmate’s back before he gave an annoyed huff and stormed off to the bathroom just around the hall.

Crowe Week day 2 prompts: Crowe survives the escort mission & red
Crowe had a pair of daggers gifted to her by a dragon. “For you,” the dragon had said to her. “For your protection.”
She had been young then. Young and under the impression the dragon would always be there to protect her. “Isn’t that what you are for?”
The dragon only laughed. “I cannot always be by your side, little blackbird. For that reason I give you these so you may protect yourself while I’m not there.” She clenched the pair of daggers in her hands. (They were beautiful things. Beautiful in spite of the deformed the blade looked, beautiful because of it.) “Just remember, dear one, you are small, but fast. Small things tend to get overlooked, so use it to your advantage.”
She had kept those words and the daggers close to her heart. The words to remind herself that she didn’t need size to be dangerous. And the daggers? Well, the daggers were more useful than child her would have thought possible. Once, they had saved her life.Series
