There was a gentle click as the door to the lab opened, and Tony looked up with a wide grin. “Bruce!” he greeted the other man, who entered the room cautiously, as if he was afraid he’d break something. Next to him, Dummy chirped happily, whirring over to roll in circles around the other scientist like an overgrown puppy while Bruce eyed him bemusedly.

Summary
For being a genius, it took Tony an embarrassingly long time to catch on to what was happening between Captain America and his AI. It started simply enough. Tony would look up from whatever he’d been working on to find a plate with a sandwich and a glass of soda sitting near him, just far enough out of reach that he didn’t knock it over on accident, but close enough that he knew it was for him.

Clint’s grin widened. "So...which one is that?" he asked casually, pointing to the bot that Tony had been threatening a moment before.
Tony debated not answering for a moment, but figured it couldn't hurt. "Butterfingers," he replied bluntly.
Clint cocked his head. "What's with the horrible naming sense?" he asked. "What did you name the other two? Snickers and Twix?"
Before Tony could retort, there was a loud clang followed by a thump and a series of clatters. Butterfingers made a distressed noise, having just dropped the fire extinguisher onto a table and knocked both it and an Iron Man boot to the floor. "It's accurate," Tony pointed out practically.

Tony went back to trying to make You Thor-proof. For reasons entirely unbeknownst to the engineer, You had decided that Thor was his favorite Avenger. Tony had done his damned best to get the bot to join his brother Dummy in following Bruce around like an overeager puppy, but that hadn't worked at all. Barring that, he had hoped that the bot would prefer Steve, or Clint, or even the scary Natasha. But no, of course not. Instead, You chose the thunder god that could fry his circuits with a touch, which he had done, twice. Tony had banned the god from the lab after the second time.

Clint groaned. “What does it matter, Nat? It’s Stark’s. He names all his toys, you know that. It’s probably named something stupid like Eight or Arachnid or something.” Tony huffed in annoyance – just because his bots had chosen their own names based on his ramblings at the time they’d come online didn’t mean he’d have deliberately chosen those names, even if they were pretty accurate. Besides, JARVIS was named just fine, wasn’t he?
