Summary
Ever since he and Rayla had gone back to Katolis to stay for awhile, Callum noticed that she had a habit of ending up in his room, in his bed specifically. Not to insinuate anything inappropriate- far from it. The first time he found her there, she was staring at the door like a playful cat, as if she had been waiting for him to come in and catch her. She immediately started grilling him for never telling her how comfy and soft his castle bed was. He’d laughed at that, saying that it didn’t exactly stick in the forefront of his mind all the time.

Summary
Whenever Rayla ended up training in front of Callum, the artist in him always noticed a pattern of gradual increasing effort. She'd start off slowly, gently in a way despite the fact she was quite literally slicing her blades through the air on a consistent basis and could probably kill him in a single swing. But as she continued, she really started getting into it and it was like the world around her ceased to exist. Just her, her blades, and the enemy- the enemy being the air. It was amusing to watch, and after awhile, Callum would notice that he could hear a song in her movements.

Summary
From the first day Rayla met Callum, there was a quirk of his that she noticed right away. Back in the traveling days, where she would stay up and keep watch over him, Ezran, and Zym while he was still in his egg, sometimes her eyes would drift to the sleeping humans she'd learn to so fiercely protect. After a few nights or so, she realized that Callum would start off going to sleep as normal, but at some point in his unconscious state, his hands would reach out and grab something to pull close to him.

Summary
Callum had a secret talent that he’d apparently decided to never talk about to Rayla until then- he could play an instrument. Something called a Kalimba, respectively. It was an interesting little music maker, crafted to be held in both hands of the user while their fingers gently plucked away at the different metal pegs that created the tinny sound waves. He’d gotten one when he’d flown solo back to the Human side of the continent to visit Ezran for a few days- leaving Rayla to question and wonder about the strange object he’d brought back to their home at the Storm Spire.

Summary
If there was any way for Callum to describe the scene before him, it was either with the word chaos or with the song War! By Zach Callison. Either one worked, really. It was just an utter mess personified. And it was going to be his responsibility to clean up later, since it was his room. Have a sleepover with your friends, brother, and girlfriend, they said. It would be fun, they said. But Callum would know better in the morning when he had to pick up the pieces of fluff and feathers that were escaping the pillows being smacked around into other people’s faces.

There was a feeling that Rayla was feeling more and more often that she couldn’t quite describe. It burned within every inch of her body at the most inopportune times, and she hated every second of it. Moonshadow Elves were not known to be very open or vulnerable, and this stupid burning feeling was making her feel incredibly needy every time it came rampaging. It was annoying, and most definitely not something she needed to deal with right now.

Summary
Callum, in short, was dying. Not of any assumed cause, mind you. There just happened to be very rare times where Rayla was in the unusual mood to completely fawn over him and baby him at the same time. She never did this in public, but they weren’t in public anyways. That was the thing about being back in Katolis- Callum knew all of the places that they wouldn’t be bothered in. Maybe it had to do something with the foreign land that caused Rayla’s rather foreign behavior. But if he was being quite honest, he felt like the equivalent of a toy. He wasn’t sure if he liked it or not.
