Summary
Eskel didn't plan on adopting a child, but when he finds one injured and frightened in the forest, he has to take action. He takes the kid to Lettenhove to see a doctor and see if he can find out who his parents are and he is horrified to discover the real reason the kid ran away from home in the first place.
In which Eskel "kidnaps" a nobleman's son to save him from an abusive home and now they have to navigate prejudice against witchers, greedy humans looking for quick cash, and very dedicated mercenaries hired to hunt them down. Eskel is ready for the challenge, though. For this kid, he would do anything.

Summary
A few months after the snows melted, Eskel and Jaskier had settled into a comfortable routine on the Path. It was almost domestic, even with the contracts to kill monsters in the background. In a small village not far from Resynlann, Eskel took and completed a contract to kill a striga. However, Eskel forgot that long ago, he had made an enemy not too far from here and, man, word really spreads when there's a witcher that travels with anyone at all other than a horse, huh?
tl;dr: Eskel made an enemy and Jaskier turned out to be the perfect bait for a witcher trap.

Summary
Eskel is planning a surprise birthday party for Jaskier, who is turning ten. He won't be able to keep his gift for Jaskier a secret unless they split up on their way back to Kaer Morhen. So, Eskel asks his brother, Geralt, to take care of Jaskier and make sure he gets home to the keep safely.
Geralt really does not want to care about this loud-mouthed, rambling kid. But Jaskier is very good at worming into people's hearts, even the stone cold hearts of witchers like him.
