Summary
Sasha James is not an irrational person. When she sees something she doesn't understand, she works at understanding it until she can teach it to someone else. But right now, she is Not Understanding, but instead of working towards a logical conclusion, she is on the verge of panic.
Because she thinks she may understand, and she absolutely refuses to do so.
The tape plays on, buzzing and clicking in the background, but she's heard all she needed to hear. And a puzzle that has been cutting into the back of her mind for months is finally taking shape.
Sasha James is pretty sure she won't like the picture she'll see when it does.

Jonathan Sims is very good at compartmentalizing.
Whenever he feels something, he sorts it into the categories Useful Feeling or Useless Feeling. He deals with his useful feelings, uses them to further productivity, and discards or ignores his useless feelings.
Obviously, this is healthy and good. Or, at the very least, it's working.

Timothy Stoker is not a very patient man.
He'll freely admit this. He knows his strengths, and patience is not among them. So it should come as no surprise to him that he finds Martin getting on his nerves, more and more often after the Prentiss attack. He's honestly a little confused by it; there'd been no change in Martin's disposition, cool and collected as ever, but, for some reason, Tim just could no longer stand the man.

When it crept out of the table, sharp and new and old, it was a beautiful thing. Its true form always was beautiful- blinding, blank white, eyes and mouths and arms carved into it like some painter had forgotten how the elbows worked in the middle of a painting.
Before it was trapped in that horrid table, full of that cloying grey and white, those strings that whispered and bound and trapped and HELD- before it had been tricked, fooled, TRAPPED- it had been beautiful.
